I made this piece at the Maine Coast Encaustic Retreat in 2024. I had made the blue gradient background as an exercise. On a walk, I picked up some small rocks, sand, and a bit of plant. Later on, I embedded them in a layer of medium.

I see the work as a developmental piece, but it has gotten such a happy reaction from people that I include it in the gallery.
