My goal was to create a sense of uplifting joy. The idea was to build layers of droplets. In the lower layer, the droplets are larger and the colors more muted. As I move up in layers, the droplets get smaller and the colors get more vivid. There is also some dark to light contrast from the bottom of the work to the top. I started with a pan pastel background and worked up from there.The hardest part of this work was using a large panel. Prior to this, the largest I had worked on was 12″ x 12″. It was hard to get started at all.
